This book is one of the core disciplines of the undergraduate Civil Engineering syllabus pertaining to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum, Karnataka state. In this textbook, every attempt has been made to introduce the design of various Steel Structures by Limit State method as prescribed in the CBCS (Choice based credit system) syllabus for the subject ‘Design of Steel Structural Elements’ with subject code 15CV62. An attempt is also made to Design the Steel Structures by plastic theory as per the revised syllabus. The book also includes Limit State Method Design of some RCC Structures prescribed in the subject ‘Design of Steel and Reinforced cement concrete (RCC) Structures’ with code 17CV72. It has been prepared in such a way that it should be students: friendly and covers almost all types of possible Design problems being covered in the V.T.U, theory examination for the above two subject. The book consists of total seven modules covering six modules on Design of Steel Structures and one module on Design of RCC Structures. It covers 66 theory questions, nearly 126 solved problems and 86 exercise problems. Each module is explained with the theory required to solve the corresponding problems in a simple way so that the reader can easily follow the Design Method. Overall this textbook is a good attempt in bringing relevant Design procedures for different Steel and RCC Structures. There is no doubt that this publication will be helpful to all student community preparing for examinations for the above subject pertaining to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum.
